Peter Dwyer Is the 2017 BOSS champion after a dominant season
With six wins from seven races at the wheel of his Premier Machine Tools Lola-Nissan, Peter Dwyer has been crowned 2017 BOSS Ireland Champion. Such was his dominance of the series, that he even managed a thrilling win at Mondello Park despite starting from the pit lane having had issues in qualifying.
From Eniscorthy in County Wexford, Peter has been competing in motorsport for over 30 years, initially hill climbing and moving to the BOSS (Big Open Single Seater) series back in 2008.The championship win was achieved at the wheel of a Lola T96 powered by a NIssan AER World Series engine, which produces approximately 380bhp.
This weekend, with the championship put to bed, Dwyer can concentrate on the famous Leinster Trophy race, where he will face a horde of visiting UK F3 Cup cars as well as his usual BOSS Ireland Competition. Should he manage to overcome the more modern and nimble F3 machines, Dwyer will join names such as Ayrton Senna and Mika Hakkinen.
Northampton Motorsport have been supporting Peter since 2015 when he first purchased the Lola and brought the car over from Dublin for us to check over and carry out some up grades to the engine management system on the car.
As well as Installing a new Life Racing ECU we also installed paddle shift, Traction and launch control and Life D5 Display system. The car also needed work on the fuel system, brakes, clutch and geometry set up.
Northampton Motorsport would like to congratulate Peter on such a dominant season and we look forward to working with him in 2018.
